If you find you need medical attention after hours but it isn’t life threating, Urgent care is typically your best option. Here is a list of the most common conditions we treat at Urgent Care & Wellness Center.

Urgent care centers have a broad and deep range of services but are not equivalent to an emergency room. Urgent care is generally a better use of a patient’s resources and time. We are open seven days a week, have normally have shorter wait times than the ER, and cost less than a traditional hospital emergency room visit. Urgent Care is also there to help conserve emergency room resources for more serious, life-threatening conditions.
Urgent care clinics can take excellent care of any wound that is not a life-threatening medical emergency. At Urgent Care & Wellness Center in Lutz, Florida, our board-certified physicians have a wealth of experience, expertise, and training in treating wounds of all different types. In terms of wound care treatment, we can provide sutures, wound cleaning, antibiotics for infected wounds, bandaging, tetanus shots, and more!
If your wound is life-threatening, you should go immediately to your nearest emergency department for proper treatment. In general, urgent care clinics are not adequately equipped to treat life-threatening medical emergencies, even if the physicians at the clinic are capable of such treatment. Signs that your wound is life-threatening include the following:
– Blood spurts or freely flows from the wound
– Blood that does not clot after appropriate measures to control bleeding
– Wound that is near or affects a major artery or organ
– Significant amount of blood loss
