Not every illness or injury can be diagnosed based on symptoms alone. When additional information is needed, Urgent Care & Wellness Center offers on-site digital X-rays and laboratory testing to help our providers better understand your condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Our physician-led team provides convenient access to diagnostic services for children and adults at our Lutz and New Port Richey locations. By combining medical evaluation, on-site testing, and treatment in one place, we can often provide answers and begin your care during the same visit.
Why Diagnostic Testing Matters
Many illnesses and injuries share similar symptoms, making it difficult to determine the underlying cause through symptoms alone.
A persistent cough may be caused by different respiratory illnesses, painful urination may have several possible explanations, and a swollen ankle may be a sprain or a fracture.
When clinically appropriate, diagnostic testing provides additional information that helps us confirm or rule out possible conditions before recommending treatment.
When Might Diagnostic Testing Be Recommended?
The type of testing recommended depends on your symptoms, medical history, and physical examination. During your visit, your provider will determine whether imaging or laboratory testing would be beneficial.

Not every condition requires diagnostic testing, but when it does, having these services available on-site helps streamline your care.
On-Site Digital X-Rays
Some injuries require imaging to better understand the extent of the damage and determine the most appropriate treatment. When an X-ray is recommended, having imaging available during your visit can help avoid unnecessary delays.
Our providers may recommend digital X-rays for concerns such as:
- Suspected fractures
- Broken bones
- Joint injuries
- Sports injuries
- Workplace injuries
- Injuries from falls or everyday accidents
Since X-rays are performed on-site, we can review the images, explain the findings, and discuss treatment recommendations during the same appointment whenever appropriate.
On-Site Laboratory Testing
We provide on-site laboratory testing services to help evaluate common illnesses and health concerns.
Respiratory Illness Testing
If you're experiencing a fever, cough, sore throat, congestion, or other flu-like symptoms, we may recommend:
Rapid COVID-19 testing for patients with symptoms of COVID-19
COVID-19 PCR testing when a laboratory-based test is recommended for additional confirmation
Rapid Influenza (Flu A & B) testing for flu-like symptoms
Rapid Strep testing for patients with a sore throat and other signs of strep throat
Rapid Mono testing when infectious mononucleosis is suspected
Urinary Testing
Urinary symptoms such as burning during urination, frequent urination, urgency, or lower abdominal discomfort may require additional evaluation. We offer:
Urinalysis to evaluate urine for signs of infection or other abnormalities
UTI testing to diagnose urinary tract infections and guide treatment
STI Testing
When appropriate, we provide confidential STI testing for patients with symptoms, potential exposure, or concerns about a sexually transmitted infection. We will discuss the appropriate testing based on your symptoms, explain your results, and recommend treatment or follow-up care when needed.
