When to Go to the ER for Ear, Eye, & Allergy Symptoms
Most allergy, ear, and eye conditions can be evaluated and treated at urgent care. However, you should go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you experience:
- Sudden loss of vision or severe eye injury
- Difficulty breathing, wheezing that isn't improving, or swelling of the face, lips, or throat
- Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
- Severe head injury with ear bleeding or clear fluid draining from the ear
- High fever with confusion, severe headache, or a stiff neck
- Any symptoms that are rapidly worsening or feel life-threatening
